Arrival & ArherWhere the Island Begins
Pickup at Socotra International Airport, then the 4×4 road along the eastern coast. By late afternoon Arher's 200-metre dune rises straight from the sea, and camp is set before sunset.

Hoq Cave & Ras EriselTwo Thousand Years, Underground
A morning walk up to Hoq Cave and its limestone formations, with the coast opening below. Then on to Ras Erisel at the island's eastern tip, and back for a second night at Arher.

Dihamri, Homhil & Dida'aFrom Reef to Highlands
Time in the water at Dihamri Marine Reserve, then up to Homhil for its dragon's blood trees and natural pool. A cooler night at the highland camp in Dida'a.

Kalisan, Zahek & OmaqWadi, Dunes and Shore
The freshwater pools of Wadi Kalisan, the Zahek dunes and the southern coast — three landscapes in a single day, ending at camp on Omaq Beach.

Dijoub, Diksam & FirmihinInto the Ancient Grove
Through Dijoub and up onto the Diksam Plateau, then a walk among the dragon's blood trees of Firmihin Forest. A highland camp near Firmihin.

Qalansiyah & DetwahWhere the Sea Comes Inland
West to the fishing village of Qalansiyah and a walk beside the tidal lagoon at Detwah, with wildlife in the shallows before sunset. Camp at Detwah Lagoon.

Shuab & DalishaA Beach Reached Only by Boat
By boat along the western coast to Shuab Beach for swimming, then on to Dalisha for the final night. Boat activities depend on sea conditions.

DepartureNothing Left to Rush
A final breakfast on Socotra, then the transfer to Socotra International Airport.

Camping is at the heart of our Socotra expedition. Single and double tents are available, complete with a mattress, pillow and blanket Portable toilets are housed in separate privacy tents at camp. From the coral shallows of the east coast to the far-western beaches reached only by boat, the expedition traces Socotra end to end. Follow the line, day by day — each marker opens the story of where you'll wake, what you'll walk into, and why it stays with you.
Arrival & Arher
The airport is a formality. What matters starts the moment the vehicle turns onto the coast road, and the flat modern world falls away behind it. By the time Arher's dune rises ahead — a wall of sand climbing straight out of the sea — the transition is already complete. Camp is set before the light goes.

Expedition FAQs
How long is the expedition?
8 days and 7 nights, with a scheduled route across Socotra and a final return to Hadibo.
Are flights included?
No. Flights are priced separately from the expedition. As an Authorized Yemenia Airways Sales Agent, we can book your flights to and from Socotra; fares depend on availability at the time of booking.
What does the price include?
Local 4x4 transport, guides and support team, meals and drinking water, camping equipment, and protected-area fees are included. The booking section shows the exact package inclusions.
Do you arrange the visa?
Yes. Once your expedition and flight booking are confirmed, our team coordinates the visa process. The current visa fee is USD 249 per traveler where required.
How many guests can join?
The expedition is designed for a small group, with a maximum of 20 guests.
What level of fitness is required?
A normal active fitness level is suitable for most days. Some locations involve uneven ground, short hikes, cave access, or climbs; the team adjusts the pace to the group.
What is the accommodation like?
Most nights are camping in scenic locations using expedition camping equipment. Your itinerary and selected add-ons show any hotel arrangements that apply to your booking.
Is full payment required?
Yes. The booking is confirmed after successful full payment. Refund terms depend on whether you select the Non-Refundable or Flexible fare.
Can I book the trip alone (solo)?
Yes. Solo travelers are welcome on this expedition. You will join the scheduled group departure, and pricing for a single traveler is shown in the booking section.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking 6–8 weeks before your preferred departure date. This allows enough time to confirm flight availability with Yemenia Airways, process your visa, and secure your place, since group sizes are limited.
What happens if Yemenia Airways cancels or delays the flight?
Flight schedules are set by Yemenia Airways and are outside our control. If a flight is cancelled or delayed, our team will help you review the rebooking options available from the airline and will work with you on adjusting your expedition dates where possible. We recommend travel insurance that covers flight disruptions.
Is travel to Socotra currently safe?
Socotra is a Yemeni island that is geographically and administratively distinct from mainland Yemen, with its own security situation. We monitor conditions on the ground closely and only run expeditions when we assess the situation to be stable. That said, we encourage travelers to review their own government’s travel advisories, arrange appropriate travel insurance, and make an informed decision based on their personal risk tolerance.
