The Route

Eight Days Across The Island

From the coral shallows of the east coast to the far-western beaches reached only by boat, the expedition traces Socotra end to end. Follow the line, day by day — each marker opens the story of where you'll wake, what you'll walk into, and why it stays with you.

Day 1First Camp · East Coast

Arrival & Arher

The airport is a formality. What matters starts the moment the vehicle turns onto the coast road, and the flat modern world falls away behind it. By the time Arher's dune rises ahead — a wall of sand climbing straight out of the sea — the transition is already complete. Camp is set before the light goes.

What you’ll do

  • Pickup from Socotra International Airport
  • 4x4 transfer along the eastern coast
  • First look at the Arher dune system
  • Settling into camp before sunset
