Socotra Visa Requirements

Who needs a Socotra visa?

In our bookings, passport holders of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman and Yemen do not need the Socotra visa, so no visa fee is added for them.

Travelers of other nationalities need a visa, and the visa fee applies. We ask for each traveler's nationality when you book, so the right arrangements are prepared.

Socotra visa fee

The current visa fee is USD 249 per traveler where required. It applies to every traveler who needs a visa, children included, and is shown as a separate line in your booking total. It is not part of the expedition price.

How the visa process works

1. Book your expedition and your flights. We can book Yemenia Airways flights for you: see flights to Socotra.
2. Add each traveler's details: full name as on the passport, date of birth, nationality, passport number and expiry date.
3. Upload a scan of each traveler's passport photo page, with all four corners visible and the details legible.
4. Our team coordinates the visa, and you can follow its status in your trip dashboard.

Passport validity

Make sure each passport is valid well beyond your travel dates. Our system flags any passport that expires within six months of departure, so you can check it before you travel.

Booking confirmation for your visa

Once booked, you can download your booking confirmation as a PDF from your account for visa purposes.
